Microsoft Might Acquire RIM BlackBerry
This is to ensure that Google- Motorola will not be the only option around to bring entertainment to the living room. Apple has integrated AirPlay to ensure the smartphone could stream music and video to the living room entertainment system whilst Google-Motorola will work closely to ensure this is achieved in the near future!!??
This gives the Microsoft reasons to acquire Nokia or RIM BlackBerry to have vast resource and patent available to have the technology to stream and even inside in car-entertainment system if feasible!!??
Nokia chief says Android makers should be wary of Google-Motorola deal
By Christopher Williams, Technology Correspondent
Last Updated: 11:51AM BST 18/08/2011
Nokia's chief executive has backed claims that Google's $12.5bn acquisition of Motorola Mobility could mean problems for other Android smartphone makers.
Stephen Elop, who earlier this year signed and exclusive deal with Microsoft so that Nokia smartphones will run only Windows Phone 7, commented on the implications of the acquisition for Samsung and HTC, Motorola's Android rivals.
"If I happened to be someone who was an Android manufacturer or an operator, or anyone with a stake in that environment, I would be picking up my phone and calling certain executives at Google and say 'I see signs of danger ahead,'" he said.
Independent analysts have also suggested that Google may give preferential treatment to Motorola once the acquisition is complete.
Google has however presented its move as one designed to defend all Android makers in the ongoing smartphone patent litigation war, in which they are being sued by Apple, Microsoft and Oracle.
Motorola holds about 17,000 patents and Google released statements from all its major Android partners welcoming the strategy when it was announced on Monday.
Mr Elop also claimed the all-cash deal vindicated his decision to work exclusively with Microsoft.
"The very first reaction I had was very clearly the importance of the third ecosystem and the importance of the partnership that we announced on February 11, it is more clear than ever before," he said.
Google's move has prompted renewed speculation that Microsoft could acquire Nokia or RIM, the maker of BlackBerry.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 Review
Although the system is not comparable to gaming platform, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is a unique model on its smartphone platform.
Apple and Samsung has its dispute and the IP injunction is in place in Germany and throughout Europe except for the Netherlands.
RIM definitely is in a different development paths and cannot be compared with Android and iOS Device. There is no Jailbreak and Root available for BlackBerry compared to both Android and iOS where it shows that BlackBerry has no flaw or incorrect programming to Android and iOS!!
I still prefer BlackBerry Bold compared to Samsung or HTC running Android!!
Apple iOS Device is too expensive for what I could still achieve on my BlackBerry!

BlackBerry has made its best smartphone to date with the Bold 9900 – but the market has never been more competitive and other devices still outstrip it
The new BlackBerry Bold 9900 is a beautiful piece of engineering: it feels solid, expensive even, with its metal rim round the edge and its carbon fibre-esque backing panel. The keyboard is as good as a physical keyboard can get. The camera, the speakers, everything impresses and feels right. Turn it on and the vivid, bright screen looks as good as any on the market, iPhone included, and the touchscreen is responsive.
And the software, version seven for those who keep count of BlackBerry OS, is rather good. It renders web pages with speed and accuracy, email and BBM is as robust as ever. But that, in the age of Windows Phone, iOS and Android is simply not good enough.
The Bold's screen may be lovely but it is too small to do justice to anything. Its app store is called App World, but BlackBerry's world, like its share price, is shrinking fast in comparison to its rivals. Who would build apps for this platform, when the company's own PlayBook tablet already uses a new operating system, and all of its other forthcoming devices are set to do the same?
The 9900 uses a 1.2GHz, single-core Snapdragon CPU and has 768MB of memory along with 8GB of storage. The effect is to make the software on the device as good as it can be: everything from an almost imperceptible shutter lag on the camera to the speed with which menus appear or documents can be edited is excellent. And yet that's not enough either.
Use any Android or iOS device and the flexibility of a modern operating system is immediately apparent: the vast numbers of apps or widgets makes them feel like so much more than a mobile phone with email and the internet. Any user of Boris Johnson's London cycle hire scheme has, via their mobile, access to immediate information on where the nearest bike is, for instance. These devices can be life enhancing; the Bold's simply a lovely, somewhat enhanced phone. From a few years ago.
But there's hope for BlackBerry: they can make hardware this good and they've got a new OS in the works. If the two mesh well together and the firm doesn't go totally to pot in the meantime, it will be BlackBerry v Windows v Android v Apple. And for that completion, consumers should all give much thanks.

Sony announce new budget PSP model
Tom Hoggins, Video Game Editor , TelegraphUnlike the ill-fated PSP Go, which would only play digital download titles, the PSP E-1000 will feature a UMD drive compatible with all of the PSP’s disc-based games. The new model will not feature Wi-Fi, but gamers will still be able to download digital titles onto the new console by connecting to a PC through Sony’s Media Go service. The new console is reportedly heavier than other PSP models, and will come in a matte black finish.

Air Asia Kills Fireflyz After the Share Swap Deal!!???
Read more at Muda Tengah
AirAsia and its rival Malaysian Airline System (MAS) have agreed a deal to swap shares in a bid to boost growth.
Tune Air, the parent company of AirAsia, will exchange 10% of AirAsia shares for 20.5% of MAS stocks with the state-owned firm Khazanah Nasional.
The two carriers said they will co-operate in areas such as purchasing planes and opening new routes.
MAS will also convert its low-cost FireFly brand to a full-service airline to avoid competition with AirAsia.
"Why do we do this? I think it will help us make a lot of money," said Tony Fernandes, the chief executive of AirAsia.
The deal could help reposition and turn around MAS as a premier long-haul carrier” Juliana Ramli HwangDBS Vickers Research
The two carriers have been competing against each other for past decade. However, their fortunes have taken completely different paths.
While Malaysian Airlines has gone through some tough times, AirAsia has grown robustly to become the biggest low-cost carrier in Asia.
Analysts say the rise of AirAsia has intensified the two carriers' competition and rivalry.
"Malaysian airlines decided that they want to take on AirAsia directly on routes where the later flies," said Siva Govindasamy of Flight Global.
"That effectively meant price competition, which is not good for business."
Mr Govindasamy said the deal will reduce direct competition, helping both airlines to concentrate on their area of specialisation.
His views were echoed by Juliana Ramli of HwangDBS Vickers Research who added "the deal could help reposition and turn around MAS as a premier long-haul carrier."
Google to Acquire Motorola
The combination of Google and Motorola will not only supercharge Android, but will also enhance competition and offer consumers accelerating innovation, greater choice, and wonderful user experiences. I am confident that these great experiences will create huge value for shareholders.
I look forward to welcoming Motorolans to our family of Googlers.
UTM is Malaysia's Top-ranked University
KUALA LUMPUR: Universiti Teknologi Malaysia is now the country's highest ranked university, according to two online-ranking systems.
The two -- Webometrics (www.webometrics.info) and 4 International Colleges and Universities (www.4icu.org) -- determine university rankings based on the institute's material contents, references, visibility and scholarships through cyber-based activities.
UTM Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Zaini Ujang said high ranking universities' contents and scholarly works almost always acted as a reference point for others.
"In today's context, where information technology and communication is the preferred method of information gathering, referencing is mostly done via online portals," he said in a statement yesterday.
The positions determined by Webometrics were announced on July 30. Coming behind UTM are Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Malaya (UM) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
UTM is in 419th position in the world ranking.
USM is 428th, UKM at 462nd, UM at 552nd, and UPM at 589th.
The list continued with Harvard University in second place, followed by Stanford University, Cornell University, University of California, Berkeley and others, all based in the US.
Australia-based www.4icu.org placed UTM at 280th place against other universities in the world.
Zaini said UTM's success in attaining the top-position in the country was the result of the university's team spirit and hard work.
"The university focuses on our 'high impact and differentiation strategy' to enable the organisation to function smoothly and competitively."

iPhone 4 Vs Samsung Galaxy S2
iPhone 4 versus Galaxy S 2 (Video)
The Samsung Galaxy S 2 and the iPhone 4 are two of the best smartphones ever released. But which is better? In this video, we do a comparison between these two devices. In terms of pricing, the iPhone 4, here in the US (certainly this price varies around the world) can be had for either $199 or $299 for the 16GB or 32GB models respectively, while the Galaxy S 2 is over $700 for the unlocked version.
Beyond that, the build quality on both devices is quite high, but we give higher marks to the iPhone thanks to its use of metal and glass. The Galaxy S 2's screen is glass, and the rest of the casing is plastic. Despite this, the Galaxy S 2 feels rigid, high-quality, and easy to hold in the hand.
Both have very different displays. The iPhone 4's 3.5" display is 960x640 resolution, providing 326 pixels per inch. The Galaxy S 2's 4.3" display is 800x480 resolution, providing 217 pixels per inch. The lower pixel density on the Galaxy S 2 is made up for with the extreme level of contrast that the Super AMOLED Plus display affords.
In terms of imaging, the iPhone 4 takes fantastic 5MP pictures and crystal clear 720p videos, but the Galaxy S 2 ups the ante with 8MP pictures and full 1080p video capture. Both have front-facing cameras, with the Galaxy S 2 taking photos at 2MP, and the iPhone maxing out at just VGA resolution.
Jumping into software, it's easy to see that Android has far greater versatility than iOS at this point, but the latter is due for an upgrade later this year that might bring vast changes to the OS. In terms of web browser performance, the Galaxy S 2 is far superior to the iPhone, probably thanks to the brawny dual-core Exynos 1.2GHz CPU and 1GB of RAM.

MoCS Definitely A Public Threat!!!
MoCS a Public Threat — PBB Youth Info Chief
Posted on May 16, 2011, Monday
KUCHING: Movement of Change, Sarawak (MoCS) is a public threat because it undermines the legitimate process of election by demanding that Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud step down in three months.
No one has the right to make such demand, said PBB Youth information chief Abdul Aziz Adenan, as Taib, including leaders of component parties of the state BN, has been given a fresh mandate by the rakyat to continue leading the state. By giving Taib an ultimatum to step down by Aug 13 last Friday, he said MoCS was actually making a mockery of the democracy in the state.
“MoCS has no right to ask the chief minister to vacate his post when the rakyat have decided otherwise.
“This shows that MoCS has no respect at all for the rule of law in the country,” he said when contacted yesterday.
He said while MoCS, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has a democratic right to express its opinion on any subject, it should know that questioning the mandate of the rakyat was not a wise move. Touching on the purported ‘recruitment’ drive by Umno members in Sarawak, Abdul Aziz stressed that maintaining the political stability in the state was the duty of all members of Barisan Nasional (BN).
He said he concurred with party vice-president Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman’s statement last Thursday that division among the people was inevitable if Umno were to spread its wings to Sarawak without approval from the state BN. Aziz said the state would only able to bring development to the rakyat if all members of the coalition respected each other.
“Our aim is to serve the rakyat using the Sarawak BN platform… and since the state BN is able to perform its duty in serving the rakyat, there is no basis for anybody to make any effort to increase PPP membership, or any Semenanjung-based BN parties in Sarawak,” he added. He also agreed with Daud that PBB was still the backbone party of the state BN by virtue of the strong mandate given by the rakyat in the last election.
The Youth information chief also said he agreed with PBB supreme council member Datuk Dr James Dawos for stressing last Thursday that PBB was a more suitable party for Bumiputeras in Sarawak regardless of their races or religions.
“Datuk Dr James Dawos is bring frank when he said the presence of Umno in Sarawak would not help BN but would only cause problems,” he said, adding “Datuk Dr James Dawos wants to preserve the strength of Sarawak BN with his statement”.
Aziz advised all youths to acknowledge the unwritten understanding between the state BN and Umno as mentioned by PRS president Dato Sri Dr James Jemut Masing, who pointed out that Umno had on many occasions assured Sarawak BN that it would not spread its wings to the state as long as the people’s welfare, especially that of the Bumiputeras, was well taken care of.

PLEASE READ AND FORWARD TO ALL MALAYSIANS
============================
Message from William Leong, PKR Treasurer
Dear ALL,
This message below is directed to All Malaysians.
If you are not a Malaysian, then take it for information sake. Politics itself is not dirty, but it’s people who make it dirty.... so it depends on which side of the fence you are in.
Thanks to W.F. Cheah for sharing this article by William Leong. William Leong is the treasurer of PKR and younger brother of ex minister, Paul Leong.
Practising in law for 20 odd years before going into politics
PLEASE READ IF YOU CARE ENOUGH FOR YOUR KIDS’ FUTURE
All Malaysians are duty bound to help each other to achieve a better life in our country. With the performance of the UMNO/BN for the last 52 years, especially the last 28 years, the country has been raped by politicians and their cronies. You know how arrogant they are; let us have look.
1. They are extending the APs to 2015! They are giving themselves free money.
2. This is daylight robbery. We are talking big bucks, billions from the rakyat (including Malays).
3. The taxes and duties on cars continue to be high to protect Proton but we the public pay through our nose. If the PR government comes into power we can expect prices to drop by at least 50% for imported cars.
4. Why are we paying these cronies our hard earned money so that they can drive around in their new and latest Ferraris, BMWs etc.
5. Have you noticed that they appoint themselves to high paying jobs and positions where they can also earn additional side income? Again these side incomes run into billions.
6. The Accountant General reported that RM 28B was wasted by you know who and for who. These figures probably do not involve the highly secretive arms contracts which run into billions.
7. Look at the way they snatched the Perak State government.
8. Look at the way they treated Teoh Beng Hock.
9. Look at the way they are trying to get Anwar.
10. Look at the Lingam's Royal Commission.
11. Look at the PKFZ delaying tactics, get one report after another, and then another and if necessary another and then only the small fish get caught and hauled to Court.
What a way to fool us? Either they are stupid or we are stupid. The abuse and cheating has been going on for far too long. Only you and I and together with all Malaysians who care can stop them.
Between now and the next General Elections we have to campaign now as if the GE is just 6 months from now.
Not only do we campaign, we must get our friends to get others and others to do the same. Let us not be fooled again and again.
Please start now, if 10 of us can each get 10 we will have 100 and if each of the hundred gets 10 we will have 1000. If we keep going, we will reach more than 10M active Malaysians to force a change.
This is a legacy we must give our children/grandchild ren, they deserve better. The alternative is too horrendous to look at.
Look at Indonesia, Japan , S. Korea and Taiwan , all their old and corrupt parties have been replaced,
Malaysia is next.
What Independence? On this August 31st, we shall celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the British leaving our country. I did not say we are celebrating the 52nd anniversary of our independence.
This is because our people have not enjoyed real liberty, democracy or justice. Without liberty, democracy or justice there is no independence. In these 52 years the oppressive rule of a foreign colonial master has been replaced by the oppressive rule of a local master... They rule with an iron fist.
They use the same instruments of oppression as the British did. They use the ISA, the Sedition Act, the Printing Press & Publications Act and detention without trial.
The freedom of assembly, the freedom of expression and the freedom to live a life of dignity free from fear and oppression are illusions. In these 52 years the yoke of a foreign colonial master has been replaced by the yoke of a local master.
They use the same policy of "divide and rule". They survive by feeding off racialism. They survive by fostering divisiveness. They survive by preaching religious intolerance.
What Teoh Beng Hock died for Malaysians will not know real independence, will not be free and will not enjoy democracy unless this oppressive regime is thrown out.
They must be thrown out just like Teoh Beng Hock was thrown out from the 14th floor of the MACC office. We must not forget Teoh Beng Hock. We must not forget what he stood for. More importantly, we must not forget what he died for.
He lived to help Malaysians in the struggle against corruption and oppression. He died so that our struggle can live. He died fighting for justice.
What Justice? Without justice we cannot say we have liberty or democracy or equal rights. We cannot say we have liberty or freedom when Tamil schools have no tables and chairs.
When in Sabah and Sarawak, schools have no electricity. A child that is illiterate is not free. We cannot say we have democracy or equal rights for women, when a Chinese girl with 9A1s cannot enter a university.. A girl without a job has no rights. We cannot say we have freedom of choice when a man cannot feed his family.
A starving man has no choice. Liberty, democracy and freedom are meaningless words when there is no justice. Justice is political liberty. Justice is economic independence.
Justice is equality. There is no political liberty when you vote out of fear. There is no economic independence when you give your support out of fear your son's scholarship will be withdrawn or your license will be withdrawn.
There is no freedom of choice when you elect a party out of fear for your contract or your business. This is what has been happening in these 52 years and this will continue if we do not act.
There will be many more Teoh Beng Hocks and many more Port Klang Free Zones if we do not stop them.
What One Malaysia? Najib says he wants One Malaysia..
Teoh Beng Hock’s death has shocked us back to reality.
We cannot just listen to rhetoric. We must look at the deeds.
When we look, we see what has been done, is a far cry from what has been said.
The Perak government has been stolen from its people.
Najib has now declared his intention to grab the Selangor government. The MACC is a tool. It is used to de-stabilize the Pakatan Rakyat government. Teoh Beng Hock was interrogated throughout the night.
He was grilled for buying RM2,400 worth of Malaysian flags. No one has been grilled when PKFZ loss RM12..6 billion.
The MACC officers are raiding the Pakatan Exco members’ offices so often they are becoming fixtures. Cars, cows and Malaysian flags have become a fixation of the MACC. MACC has not shown the same enthusiasm when it comes to BN assemblymen who used up their annual allocation of RM500,000 in 2 months before the general elections. The MACC has also not shown any interest in the trips by the former chief minister and his family to study the river system in Disney Land. There is no investigation into how the former chief minister can afford to purchase a multi-million ringgit mansion that is beyond the means of a chief minister's salary.
Barisan Nasional machinery is now on the move.
Books attacking Anwar Ibrahim and Khalid Ibrahim are being distributed. The authors of these books are sowing the seeds of hatred and contempt.
They desecrated the Hindu's sacred cow in a protest filled with bigotry. They protested against a Hindu temple built 150 years ago when the area was a plantation that today, just like its devotees, the estate workers, had been left behind by development.
They have forgotten Muslims were invited to practice their religion amongst the people of Yathrib. They are beating the drums of racial and religious hatred and the tone is becoming harsher with each beat.
The people must now decide. There cannot be any fence sitters.
There is no middle ground.
When Teoh Beng Hock was thrown out, the people of Malaysia were thrown together with him into the sea of political troubles.
Whether Malaysia will sink or swim is now up to the people. The people must decide once and for all what is right and what is wrong. There cannot be a neutral ground.
Dante said: “The hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in times of moral crisis.”
Today in Malaysia there is no place for neutrality. Malaysians must make their choice now. If we want to know what is evil and what is right, we must use our moral compass. It is only when we know the direction where justice lies can we know where we must stand.
Do we want to choose liberty and justice which are always right or do we want to choose corruption, hatred, arrogance and oppression which are always wrong?
The choice is clear.
Every Malaysian must make his stand.
I want to tell you that when you stand for liberty, we will stand with you.
When you defend democracy, we will be your shield.
When you fight for justice, we will be your sword.
We will always be with you.
They assaulted *Anwar Ibrahim.
*They threw him in jail for 6 long years...
They call him a traitor and worse.
But Anwar will always be here to fight for you.
They hounded and harassed *Lim Kit Siang. *They detained him in Kamunting..
But Lim Kit Siang will always be here to stand by you.
They attacked *Tok Guru Nik Aziz *and tried to humiliate him. But Tok Guru Nik Aziz will always be here to protect you.
We have been tested. They have thrown everything they have at us but we are still standing and we are still here.
We were here in November 2007 when a sea of yellow marched for a free and fair election. This was *BERSIH*. We were here in December when thousands in orange marched for equality. This was *Makal Sakthi*.This was the ripple that started the tsunami.
Barisan Nasional was swept out of 5 states. Since then Barisan Nasional has become more extreme in their policies. They have become more brutal with the people. On 1st August, the lovers of justice and liberty marched again.. Again Barisan Nasional responded with violence and brutality. 638 people including women and children were arrested. Despite the police shutting down the city, despite the many road blocks and barricades, despite the arrest of those wearing black, the number who succeeded in gathering far exceeded my expectations.
But the size of the gathering cannot be bigger than my hope for Malaysia.
My hope is for every one that braved the tear gas and water cannons there will be many thousands more.
We want hundreds of thousands to march with us.
We will march from under the shadow of fear into the light of justice.
My hope is that the flame burning in each who gathered that day will kindle the hearts and minds of many thousands more.
Malaysians will find the courage to stand-up for principles and convictions.
We must stand up for what is right.
This is my hope and this is the hope of all Malaysians.
Truth, love and justice will prevail over the forces of hate and oppression. This will only happen when the silent majority refuses to remain silent anymore. This will only happen when the voice of the majority is finally heard.
We must be confident that oppression and corruption cannot endure. We must take comfort that truth and justice will always prevail. But this can only be achieved if we fight for it.
We must fight today for a better tomorrow.
Looking into the future, let not our children look back and say that these are dark days. Let them say that these are great days. These are the most glorious days that our country ever had. These days will be remembered as the days that when we were called, we answered. We stood up. We stood together shoulder to shoulder irrespective of race or religion. We fought and we prevailed. Each of us played our part according to our strength.
Our children and their children will look back on these days and celebrate it as the days we became *ONE NATION*..
These days will be etched in our Nation's history as the days we won over injustice and oppression. These will be the days we celebrate *THE TRUE MERDEKA.*
Thank you, Xie xie , terima kasih, vanakam...
Have a blessed day.
............. ......... ......... ........ .......... .........
TO MALAYSIANS OF ALL RACES...
IT’S TIME TO STAND UP AGAINST CORRUPTION!
IT’S TIME TO STAND UP FOR JUSTICE AND TRUTH!
IT’S TIME TO FIGHT FOR OUR TRUE MERDEKA!
PLEASE CIRCULATE...
THANK YOU.

Still No Compromise Between Opposition Pact - Abang Johari
March 28, 2011 15:43 PM
Opposition Pact Now A Weakened Force - Abang Johari
MUKAH, March 28 (Bernama) -- The Sarawak Barisan Nasional does not see opposition parties like Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) or the Sarawak National Party (SNAP) as being a thorn on its side in the coming 10th state election.
Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu deputy president Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg noted that PKR and SNAP were not likely to give problems or challenge BN candidates in the rural bumiputera majority seats.
"They are still fighting over the seats. There is no sign of compromise on the horizon.
"...their relations are frail...in tatters...so, their organisation will be affected.
"Based on this, I do not think they are capable of fighting us (BN) as a force," he told the media here today after launching the People Friendly Homes scheme at Kampung Nelayan.
Abang Johari, who is also state housing minister, said even in urban areas, PKR was fighting for seats with the DAP, adding that it was obvious that Pakatan Rakyat was breaking up.
Earlier, he called on the people in the Balingian constituency to ensure Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud be returned unopposed.
"Not just our great leader but all BN candidates, as well. When there is continuity, we can progress and prosper even more," he said.
