Team evad3rs Released evasi0n 1.5 To Jailbreak iOS 6.1.2 Untethered On All iDevices Except for AT3!

Recently Apple released iOS 6.1.2 to fix minor bug.  Later, team evad3rs who is responsible for the untethered iOS 6.0 jailbreak released their evasi0n ver 1.4 for this jailbreak.  However 2 days later they released evasi0n 1.5 to fix device restarting/crashing during jailbreak.

Apart from evad3rs, another jailbreak tool for iOS 6.1.2 was released by iH8Snow under the name sn0wbreeze.  However, this jailbreak tool is only available for window users.  Comparing sn0wbreeze and evasi0n, the latter is much easier with one click and ported to Mac, Window and Linux while sn0wbreeze requires too many steps including manually going into DFU mode.

Bad news for ATV3 owner because there seems to be no exploit to jailbreak the Apple 1080p unit.  Airplay from jailbroken iDevices still works unless Apple did something to prevent this.

Before this, Santa was expected to deliver the exploits, yet the water snake couldn't help santa to deliver the ATV3 exploits,  so we guess it is still a long way to go for ATV3 jailbreak!

APPLE UNVEILS THE NEW iPAD 3RD GEN??!!

The direction for iPad 3 or iPad HD released is too drastic.  In the end they could only change the specs and upgrade the processor from A5 to A5X while maintaining full Retina display.  Also add in or maintained the Siri function (can't be bothered with) and add a 4G LTE connectivity!!!??   Hey  wait is this iPad 4G?!!!  Nope just still the old name iPad!!!?

They pull up the price tag higher by $100plus depending on the size and connectivity added and the rumour about having 168GB is just another rumour!!!??  No more calling it iPad 3 or iPad HD but instead they are just branding it like the other Honda Civic or Toyota Vios!!??  Imagine if this is the 8th iPad Generation?!!!  It won't be called iPad8 but instead just another iPad build 2015 or something!!!??
Credits to source

Instead of having more portability function, like USB port or HDMI port yet you still need to JB to enable this function or simply streaming by using cloud technology!!??  Apple still wants the stream via wireless connectivity and yes no poking into their iDevice except for charging purposes!!???
Credits to MIC and gottabemobile
New terminology included like iSight for the rear camera for full 1080p video recording, while front camera is called FT or Facetime!!??

Since iPad is not the major event maybe Apple TV got the limelight?!!!  Well, it is yet another frustrating day!!??  iPad or Asus PadFone?!!!  To those wanting to be keeping up with the trend, they will sell their iPad2 and grab this 3rd Generation!!???  The closest release date in SEA will be 16th March in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia!!??  Maybe Malaysia have to wait like any other countries!!!??

Spec summary
  • Retina display
  • A5X Processor
  • 5MP iSight and VGA FaceTime Camera
  • 1080p Video recording
  • Dictation via Siri?
  • 4G LTE Connectivity
  • 0.40"  ( 0.03 " thicker than iPad2)
  • Just iPAD

Samsung Galaxy Tab Copied iPad Elements?

In Germany the ban was lifted for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is banned in Germany but not in Europe. This is due to injuction performed as per Apple claimed that Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 copied elements from iPad. The injuction is in response to an intellectual property claim by Apple and covers all Europe except for the Netherlands where separate lawsuit will be carried out.

Motorola Xoom Launched in February!

The Motorola Xoom has super-fast dual-core processor running on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). It contained powerful Google developed software specifically designed for tablet market. It has front 2MP and rear facing 5 MP camera, a camcoder with Adobe Flash Player mounted on an 10.1 inches widescreen HD display.

Motorola Xoom is the first tablet running with Honeycomb.  Way much better than Samsung Tablet with Android Froyo.  Google has tweaked the interface giving tab browsing capability, comparable with a small monitor PC with flash enabled.  It is equipped with mini USB and HDMI-port along with Wifi and 3G connectivity.  I bet what would the iPad boss feels when this ultra sensation hits town right after Valentine.  It will be Xoom fever all over.  Maybe BlackBerry Playbook can cure this sickness?

Enter Samsung Galaxy Tabs World

Buy today’s tablet, or avoid sorrows and buy tomorrow’s?

By Alex Zaharov-Reutt
Thursday, 11 November 2010 00:15

As Samsung’s Galaxy Tab launched yesterday in India, Samsung was launching a 7-inch AMOLED screen and a 10.1-inch prototype tablet at the Flat Panel Displays (FPD) 2010 expo in Japan, giving users a glimpse into Galaxy Tab versions circa 2011!

The old perennial question of when to buy rears its ugly head when it comes to the topic of tablets.

From a gazillion articles talking up iPad competitors, the only a very few have proven noteworthy in this early stage of the tablet game, especially with Apple already having sold over 7m of its “magical and revolutionary” iPads, with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab one of that handful of standouts.

Although Samsung has come to take as many bites of the tablet cherry as it can, as early as it can, Samsung has more customers to please than just the CEO, unlike Apple.

Samsung also showcases its future technologies at trade shows, thus giving us a pretty good guesstiglimpse into the likely future.

Yes, I just guesstimated up a new word there, but hey, it’s all in a day’s work.

Anyway. Samsung’s first tablet effort, the Galaxy Tab, is a polished competitor, exhibiting some of the flair and finesse Apple applies to its products while coming in a much smaller form factor.

Already 7-inch apps have arrived for the device, with more promised to come, but now some are wondering how soon it will be before an AMOLED equipped 7-inch Galaxy Tab successor appears on the marketplace, whether it will cost any more, how Samsung’s 10-inch Galaxy Tab might perform and what it might look like.

The thing is, we knew they were coming as Samsung had already said so, and we all know now that a product’s successor is already being planned once the first version hits store shelves.

The question is how much a particular item can help to improve your life now, and where you are in the cycle of expected product updates, so you aren’t feeling like a chump having bought “the latest” model only to have it totally superseded by the brand-new, expensive and naturally must-have new model only two months later.

In theory, Australians won’t be able to buy any new iPad until anytime between March and July next year. Any new Samsung Tab is unlikely to come out any earlier, and might come out even later, although a lot likely depends on how quickly Google gets Android 2.3 and 3.0 out the door.

After all, Galaxy Tabs only launched into the global marketplace over the last couple of weeks, but if you thought mobile phone evolution was hot, tablet evolution is getting set to run even hotter.

If you can see that a tablet will improve your life in a meaningful way above and beyond a netbook, notebook or MacBook Air, then by all means investigate them, and if one appeals and it’s in your budget, then buy one, whichever model it is you have chosen.

Alternatively, satisfying your need for mobility may be better served with a netbook, notebook or MacBook Air, or waiting for a better tablet tomorrow.

But if you choose to wait for tomorrow, or go with watch closely and choose wisely from new the technologies on offer as unveiled, to best avoid buyer’s remorse and any sorrow!

Jailbreak iOS 4.1 iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G, iPad with GreenPois0n [How to Guide]

By Taimur Asad | October 12th, 2010

Chronic Dev Team has finally released GreenPois0n to the world. You can use it to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G / 3G and iPad. Support for iPod touch 2G and Apple TV will be added soon.

The following instructions will help you jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS using GreenPois0n.

NOTE: If you rely on an unlock, do not update to iOS 4.1 yet as doing so will upgrade your baseband, making it impossible for now to unlock. Either use TinyUmbrella to update to iOS 4.1 without update baseband ( instructions here), or wait for PwnageTool which will help you cook custom firmware files for iOS 4.1 without the upgraded baseband.

Step 1: Download GreenPois0n from the link given below.

Step 2: Connect your iPhone via USB to your computer and click on “Prepare to Jailbreak (DFU)” as seen in the screenshot below.

Step 3: Now follow the following onscreen instructions:

Press and hold the sleep button for 2 seconds

Continue holding sleep; press and hold home for 10 seconds.

Release sleep button; continue holding home for 15 seconds.

Step 4: Your device is now ready for jailbreak. Click on “Jailbreak” to inject the exploit.

Step 5: Your iPhone
iPhone, iPad or iPod touch should now be successfully jailbroken on iOS 4.1 !

Step 6: Now start “Loader” found on the homescreen and install Cydia:

This is it! You are done !

Limera1n and Greenpois0n iPhone Jailbreak Tools Released!

By Bob Bhatnagar -
Published October 13th 2010

The jailbreak community has been active lately. Thanks to a surprise release of the limera1n jailbreak tool from Geohot, the release of Greenpois0n was delayed. Now both hacks use the same unpatchable bootrom exploit and are available to the iOS device-owning public.
In the meantime, the SHAtter exploit initially planned for Greenpois0n has been shelved for future use. Apple will surely fix the bootrom exploit in the next round of iOS hardware, however this time the jailbreak developers have a countermeasure ready for action.

Limera1n will jailbreak firmware 4.0, 4.01, 4.02, and 4.1 running on the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 3G , iPod touch 4G, and the iPad running iOS 3.2.2. Limera1n for Windows can be found at limera1n.com. The software is still a beta release and some users have reported problems. Future releases should support other platforms. The iPhone Dev-Team warns on their blog, "DO NOT USE LIMERA1N IF YOU USE THE ULTRASN0W CARRIER UNLOCK — wait for PwnageTool to incorporate the limera1n exploit. This is so that you can avoid updating your baseband and losing the unlock (possibly forever)."

Greenpois0n is also still under beta development. Right now it works for the iOS devices listed above but only when running iOS 4.1. Both Windows and Linux versions are available at greenpois0n.com. The Chronic Dev Team announced that support for Apple TV and iPod touch 2G jailbreaks are in the works, as well as a Mac version.

A wireless carrier unlock that will allow your locked iPhone to work with any compatible service provider is still under development. In the meantime, make sure to use TinyUmbrella to back up your SHSH files.

More explanation from the iPhone Dev-Team blog: "Because the 'untethered' part of this jailbreak comes from a userland hack from @comex, you should still backup your SHSH hashes for 4.1... This way you can always come back to an untethered, jailbreakable 4.1 on your devices after Apple has closed their 4.1 signing window (they’ll close the 4.1 window once they push out their next firmware version)."

As always, jailbreak tools for any and all iOS devices are released free of charge. There are many fake products that will scam users out of money. Never pay for a jailbreak tool unless you're voluntarily donating to the developers!
