MoCS Definitely A Public Threat!!!

The mandate given to Taib Mahmud clearly shows that he is still capable of leading the state of Sarawak into modernisation and rapid development.  This is clearly shown by PBB winning all 35 seats during the last Sarawak's General Election.  The support of leadership under Taib Mahmud was clearly shown when yesterday more PBB Youth came forward to lodge a police report against MoCS Francis Siah who is now hiding in Sabah!!!??

 

The investors coming to SCORE also shows keen interest upon knowing that Taib Mahmud is the Chief Minister of Sarawak thus giving them the confidence to invest in Sarawak economy.  

 

Francis Siah should consider all these before launching personal attacks on Taib Mahmud!!??   What will happen to the economy when Taib Mahmud steps down?  Does Francis Siah knows that every political ripples will give impact to the economy? 

 

MoCS a Public Threat — PBB Youth Info Chief

KUCHING: Movement of Change, Sarawak (MoCS) is a public threat because it undermines the legitimate process of election by demanding that Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud step down in three months.  

No one has the right to make such demand, said PBB Youth information chief Abdul Aziz Adenan, as Taib, including leaders of component parties of the state BN, has been given a fresh mandate by the rakyat to continue leading the state. By giving Taib an ultimatum to step down by Aug 13 last Friday, he said MoCS was actually making a mockery of the democracy in the state.

“MoCS has no right to ask the chief minister to vacate his post when the rakyat have decided otherwise.

“This shows that MoCS has no respect at all for the rule of law in the country,” he said when contacted yesterday.

He said while MoCS, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has a democratic right to express its opinion on any subject, it should know that questioning the mandate of the rakyat was not a wise move.  Touching on the purported ‘recruitment’ drive by Umno members in Sarawak, Abdul Aziz stressed that maintaining the political stability in the state was the duty of all members of Barisan Nasional (BN).

He said he concurred with party vice-president Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman’s statement last Thursday that division among the people was inevitable if Umno were to spread its wings to Sarawak without approval from the state BN.  Aziz said the state would only able to bring development to the rakyat if all members of the coalition respected each other.

“Our aim is to serve the rakyat using the Sarawak BN platform… and since the state BN is able to perform its duty in serving the rakyat, there is no basis for anybody to make any effort to increase PPP membership, or any Semenanjung-based BN parties in Sarawak,” he added.  He also agreed with Daud that PBB was still the backbone party of the state BN by virtue of the strong mandate given by the rakyat in the last election. 

The Youth information chief also said he agreed with PBB supreme council member Datuk Dr James Dawos for stressing last Thursday that PBB was a more suitable party for Bumiputeras in Sarawak regardless of their races or religions.  

“Datuk Dr James Dawos is bring frank when he said the presence of Umno in Sarawak would not help BN but would only cause problems,” he said, adding “Datuk Dr James Dawos wants to preserve the strength of Sarawak BN with his statement”.  

Aziz advised all youths to acknowledge the unwritten understanding between the state BN and Umno as mentioned by PRS president Dato Sri Dr James Jemut Masing, who pointed out that Umno had on many occasions assured Sarawak BN that it would not spread its wings to the state as long as the people’s welfare, especially that of the Bumiputeras, was well taken care of.

Abang Johari Slaps SNAP and PKR

PKR has been trying to put SNAP under their leash.  Being SNAP, they will not bow or even lower their style and pride after seeing how PKR manage their own elections?!!!  SNAP led by Edwin Dundang was furious upon discovering that, PKR only allocated 3 minor seats to SNAP while PKR is eying 52 seats throughout the state!!!

PKR head is overblown that they thought of winning the whole Sarawak State Election on their own.  SNAP is fine with DAP and PAS however SNAP will snap at PKR who is trying to become the big boss of Sarawak.  So much for giving Sarawak Autonomy when they could not even stand seeing Sarawak Party getting all their candidates across the state???!!!

The wise Abang Johari also shares the same opinion with Edwin Dundang.  SNAP should get the honour to contest being the legend in Sarawak.  PKR is being selfish and arrogant by not allowing SNAP to contest more than 16 seats in the upcoming election.  Who is PKR compared to SNAP in Sarawak?

Shame on PKR, trying to bully SNAP with their head in their butts!!???  Poor Anwar Ibrahim who is still being charged of sodomy and waiting for his DNA to move the case forward!!!  There is no hope in Pakatan Rakyat if they could not win the majority.  SNAP and PAS incorrigible acts should not happen during this eleventh hour!!  Who do you think will get the peoples' vote, should PKR and SNAP decided to contest at the same area?  Definitely SNAP!!!

There is no more Pakatan in the Rakyat and after showing their true colors especially the big headed PKR now it is time to show to the people that they will be no future under the PKR or Pakatan Rakyat.  No consensus or whatsoever among them.  Definitely no teamwork and least cooperation during this coming 10th Sarawak General State Election!!! 

PKR-SNAP spat shows PKR’s arrogance – Abg Johari

KUCHING: The ongoing spat between Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Sarawak National Party (SNAP) on seat allocation shows that PKR is arrogant and selfish, commented PBB deputy president Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He said as an opposition coalition, PKR’s insistence that it contest in 52 seats showed the party’s true colour.

Abang Johari added that even PKR’s state chief Baru Bian was appointed by PKR’s central body in Kuala Lumpur which showed that the party did not even give the chance to Sarawakians to decide who should lead the party in the state.

“This goes to show that the party is arrogant and does not respect the people of Sarawak.

“And its wanting to contest in 52 seats in the coming state election also goes to show that the party is selfish as it leaves other Pakatan Rakyat members to fight for the 19 remaining seats,” Abang Johari told The Borneo Post at his office here yesterday.

Baru had said the party was eyeing 52 seats in case other PR members were not ready with their candidates.

To this Abang Johari reiterated that there was no consensus in PR and this also proved that the opposition was nowhere near the spirit of solid comradeship enjoyed by Barisan Nasional (BN) at both state and national levels.

“How can the people expect to trust that kind of partnership to work in Sarawak and to govern it fairly? As such the rakyat must know the fact and understand the current issues to have a clearer picture of the state’s political scenario and not be easily misled by the opposition.

“As for BN, we have been with the people all this while and we have proven we are capable to further develop the state. While we have a mammoth project like SCORE, PR has nothing concrete to further develop the state,” said Abang Johari, who is also Minister of Housing and Urban Development.

On Tuesday, SNAP threw a bombshell by disclosing that the party would contest in at least 40 seats, leaving only 31 seats up for grabs by its PR component parties if the opposition pact was serious in facing BN on one-to-one fights in all the 71 state seats.

SNAP president Edwin Dundang even revealed 16 names, who he said were the first batch from the list of 40 names of its potential candidates. SUPP Candidate Must Be Community Oriented And Never Compromise Racial Harmony - Dr George Chan

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam was reported by The Borneo Post, at the  book re-launching ceremony of a memoir by former state politician, the late Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Yong.

Dr George Chan also reminded the Chinese to choose progress by staying and moving forward with Barisan Nasional and SUPP.   He also commented that Barisan Nasional has proven themselves to bring Sarawak and the Chinese community forward unlike any other parties. 

He also reminded the Chinese community to choose their representative wisely.  Put the candidate that will bring harmony to our community and not otherwise.  

During his speech, he honoured the late Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Yong.

KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam said yesterday that the Chinese must stay with the government in order to progress.  

 

“We must be inside the decision-making group for things to get done. There is no point shouting from outside as nothing can be accomplished,” he said at the re-launching ceremony of a memoir by former state politician, the late Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Yong.

Dr Chan, who is Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) president, said history had proven Yong to be right in many things including his move in establishing the party.

“He (Yong) was everything a real politician should be.

He always told me not to worry about what others say as there will always be people who distract and say negative things. Just go ahead with what you believe is right, and history will prove you right,” he said.

Dr Chan pointed out that it was important for the Chinese to realise that the person they put up as their representative must be able to do things for the community and not just sweet-talk.

“Today, if the Chinese are not represented in the government, Sarawak would not have gone as far as it had.

Tan Sri Yong had helped to shape the racial unity that we have today, which enabled us to move forward in a fair and just society.

“Always be careful of people who sweet-talk as they can compromise our racial harmony and religious freedom,” he pointed out.

Dr Chan in his speech also commended Yong’s contributions to the state in the early days.

“His political foresightedness contributed greatly to the emergence of the state Barisan Nasional government in 1970, a political model stressing on power sharing, stability and racial harmony, which resulted in rapid social and economic development in the state.

“His wisdom, selflessness and righteous stand on issues such as Chinese education, communist insurgence, political detainees and the new villages brought about a significant change in the lives of people from all walks of life in Sarawak.

“Tan Sri Yong was indeed a great son of Sarawak,” he said.

Meanwhile, according to Yong’s son Philip, when the first edition of the book came out in 1998, there were already plans by Yong to re-edit it to include newer materials.

“Sadly the plan did not take place and my father passed away in 2001, shortly after his 80th birthday.

“I began the re-editing by rearranging the original material written in long-hand by my late father and making everything easier to read.

“Our family members and friends had helped a lot especially with the proofreading.

“Hopefully, the Chinese edition will be out by end of this year,” said Philip.

The memoir ‘A Life Twice Lived’, details the illustrious life of the late Yong, who served as deputy chief minister from 1970 to 1974 and as federal minister of science, technology and environment from 1982 to 1990.

He was the first local-born lawyer in the state and was involved in the formation of Malaysia.

Yong was one of the pivotal movers in establishing SUPP in 1959 and served as the party’s secretary-general for 22 years (1959-1981) and chairman for eight years (1982-1990).

‘A Life Twice Lived’ is now available at all major bookstores and is priced at RM25.

Sarawak Gets New Chief

The Chief of Staff for Rascom Camp has been announced. Congratulations to  Lt Col Kamarudzaman on his new appointment.  

However in another scene, the Cybertron, the new UMB BN Sarawak has also been established. The BN components in Sarawak has all agreed to appoint Abdul Aziz Adenan as the New Chief for UMB BN Sarawak. 

He is a also the PBB Youth Chief of Information, is a well-known computer literate and earlier  last year in 2010, had established the UMB PBB after witnessing the small by-election in Sibu. 

The time has come to unite all the BN Sarawak party component bloggers with the street bloggers to defend what it just!  With the appointment of the New Chief for UMB BN Sarawak, we will be looking at a drastic scenario where major component parties in BN Sarawak fighting in the cyber war and drilling for the coming election.

Lt Col Kamarudzaman takes over as new Ninth Brigade Chief of Staff

SIBU: Lt Col Kamarudzaman Thani began his duties as the new Ninth Brigade Chief of Staff yesterday.

Mohd Nor will take up a new appointment in the Malaysian Army in Kuala Lumpur at the defense planning section this week.

Saberkas is the Group for Youth

Congratulations to Saberkas who has set up their new branches all over Sarawak.  There will be no issue arises when organising activities since all has been made clear.  Youth will be targeted to play their parts by joining Saberkas to ensure a healthy and productive lifestyle.  

Apart from that, the seniors or veterans are also encouraged to bring in expertise identified in their branches to be trained and groomed to carry out the respective assignments when dealing with issues involving the youth.  This is a good way to promote the 1Malaysia  and also living in peace and harmony.

Saberkas to set up 71 branches

BINTULU: Sarawak National Youth Organisation (Saberkas) has decided to set up 71 branches based on the total of State Legislative Assembly (DUN) areas in the state.

OFFICIAL LAUNCHING: Abang Johari (centre) together with secretary general Datuk Aidan Wing (third left), his deputy Datuk Paul Teo (third right) and others cut the cake at the launching ceremony.

President Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg said currently, Saberkas has 31 branches based on the number of districts throughout the state.

“This is one of our efforts to improve our role in developing our youths,” he said at the ‘1Malaysia Night’ held by Saberkas Bintulu Division on Monday.  He added that they had also decided to balance the composition of its members between the young and veterans.  He said those who were above 45 years old would train the younger ones in management matters.

“In order to make sure Saberkas remains strong and successful, capable leaders are still needed,” he said.

Abang Johari, who is also the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, said that age 45 was a suitable age gap between youths and veterans in the context of Saberkas.

“At the moment, the average life span of Malaysians is 70 years old,” he said.

Saberkas is a unique organisation made up of various races and therefore, is a good example for 1Malaysia foundation.  He said although the members came from various races, their goal remain the same, which is to work closely to help develop the state.

KUCHING: Assistant Minister of Planning and Resource Management Mohd Naroden Majais will check a site at Gunung Tabai in Bau to verify reports about a gold rush.

“Since you people (media) have notified me, I will go there on a fact-finding trip to see whether the activity is legal or not,” he told reporters after launching ‘Malaysian Halal Certification Awareness Seminar’ here yesterday.

The visit, he said, would also confirm whether gold was found in the area which is actually state land.

He advised the gold prospectors to apply for proper permits from the Ministry of Planning and Resource Management, adding that those who were mining illegally should stop.

Meanwhile, Bau police chief DSP Vincent Ajeng Laing said a report on the alleged activity had been received and he had dispatched an investigating team to the area.

“Instead of finding gold miners, we found traces of their presence such as clothes, boots, food wrappings and digging tools,” he said.

Vincent said his men also found a shrine near the cave entrance.

He said the matter would be reported to the relevant authorities such as the Land and Survey Department and the Ministry of Planning and Resource Management.

Yesterday, a community leader, who declined to be identified, disclosed that as many as 100 prospectors could be mining round the clock in the area.

He disclosed that the prospectors comprised locals and outsiders.

“As the activity involved only minimal cost, it will definitely continue to attract people to try their luck,” said the community leader.

He said the gold diggers could have stumbled upon gold while searching for bird’s nests in the caves.

Bau District Officer Tom Hem Mijod said a company had been given a licence to prospect for gold in the area but he had no knowledge of any gold rush.

He said if there were any private or individual mining activities in Bau then they could be illegal as no licence had been issued.

Jabu: DAP Endorsed Violence!!!

Rural folks should follow what is being emphasized by Jabu.  He is in fact the Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak.  He is still seating on his chair to help the Sarawakians fight anti-development preacher.  He is referring to DAP.  The so-called Democratic Action Party is just a name. They still promotes communism and hide behind their rockets!!?

Only DAP wants Chin Peng back!! This shows that DAP endorsed violence and have forgotten that many Dayaks lost their lives fighting against the communists? 

If you have noticed the development in Penang, it is communism being practiced again?  Everywhere is the same, same design, same building, is this the concept of communism, isn't it?  One style one design and one bicycle?

Please be smart and follow the current trend! In Serian, DAP and PKR are being rejected!!!  If we want democracy? Barisan Nasional is the answer!! If we want development? Only Barisan Nasional could provide that!!  DAP is preaching to the wrong choir, let them know, put our feet forward and close the door whenever they knock!!!

Close the door on DAP, Jabu tells rural folk

BINTULU: In Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang’s book, the DAP is “an enemy of the people in the rural areas of Sarawak”. 

He said he viewed the party as such because they often questioned the sincerity of the government in trying to improve the socio-economic status of the people through various types of programmes, such as the development of Native Customary Rights (NCR) land into oil palm plantations.

“DAP does not want to see people in the rural areas participate in joint ventures to develop their NCR land. They want the people to remain laid back,” he said during a gathering in Rumah Limin Anai in Sungai Sebungan, Sebauh, on Sunday.

Also present were Assistant Minister of Public Health and Utilities Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, Bintulu District Officer Tuah Suni, Bintulu Pemanca Utong Sigan and longhouse chief Limin Anai.

Jabu told those present that the opposition purposely distorted the development of NCR land just for political mileage.

“The fact is that with the development of the NCR land, rural folks now enjoy monthly income of thousands of ringgit from oil palm yield,” he pointed out.

In addition to that, the development of NCR land had also brought in infrastructure development, such as the building of roads.

“DAP is only good at criticising and twisting facts. They are claiming that they are superior to the Barisan Nasional (BN),” he said.

Jabu, who is also Minister of Modernisation and Agriculture, said one only had to look at Penang to see what the opposition is worth. Penang, which is under the leadership of DAP’s secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, had not been able to match the capacity of the Sarawak state government in many areas.

“Budget 2011 provides Penang with only RM900 million. Sarawak, on the other hand, will spend RM3.6 billion on development next year.

“So, how can they (DAP) say they are better than the BN?” he asked.

Jabu also mentioned that some time ago, the DAP was all for the return of the former secretary-general of the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) Chin Peng to Malaysia. Their stance, he said, showed that the DAP endorsed violence.

Many in the security forces lost their lives fighting the communists, including Ibans who were serving under the now defunct Sarawak Rangers. Their (Ibans) remains were eventually buried in the peninsula.

“Is this the kind of leadership we want in Sarawak?” he asked.

The function, among others, saw Jabu presenting incentives amounting to RM662,515 to 789 landowners who were involved in an oil palm joint-venture project with DDE Plantation Sdn Bhd. The plantation spans 4,416 hectares.
